Summary:
Under the general direction of the Facilities Supervisor, the Special Event Porter provides ongoing event support during special events at the Museum. As part of a dynamic team, his position provides custodial support, including set up and breakdown assistance, for events such as; corporate events, holiday parties, cultural celebrations, birthday parties, private family and member related events.
Responsibilities:
The part-time Special Event Porter job responsibilities for the custodial support include:
- Prompt response to custodial needs including emptying trash, wiping down tables, sweeping, mopping, setting up and re-setting the Museum spaces
- Ensuring that the museum is clean and ready for visitors
- Safely and efficiently responding to radio calls for support
- Reporting any issues to the Facilities Supervisor or Sales Manager
- Providing support to vendors or caterers by ensuring their spaces are clean and ready for the event
- Promptly responding to customer or staff requests for spot cleaning or trash removal
- Professional behavior at all times as a representative of CDM
- Making sound judgment using on-the-spot problem solving and handling unexpected situations
as well as delivering a high level of customer service.
Operator Requirements:
- At least 18 Years of age
- Able to lift 25 lbs. to move materials needed
- Being comfortable working outdoors
- Strong English speaking skills, bilingual a plus
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule mostly evenings and weekends
