Artist Julia Goodman will teach you a creative way to make paper with minimal equipment and maximum fun. Borrowing inspiration from Arnold Grummer, this workshop includes a brief introduction to making your own mould and deckle using two tin cans, and a hands-on introduction to making paper.

Julia Goodman (www.jagoodman.com) is an Oakland based artist who recently completed a 2014-2015 Visiting Lecturer in the Interdisciplinary MFA Program in Book and Paper at Columbia College Chicago. Goodman has exhibited over the past decade across the United States, including shows at the San Jose Museum of Art, Intersection for the Arts, Rena Bransten Gallery, Columbia College Chicago, DePaul University Art Museum, and Machine Project.

The Museum recently commissioned Julia Goodman’s “Up in the Trees” for installation at Educare Silicon Valley. “Up in the Trees”, seven sculptural groupings that feature local tree leaves and animals, was created from donated t-shirts from Savers, which were made into pulp then cast into molds.
