Exploring Art Surfaces: Fun with Foil

Unleash your creativity with foil art! Experience a different type of art surface that transforms aluminum foil into stunning masterpieces using vibrant shades of tempera sticks. The reflective surface and texture of foil amplify every hue, making your artwork shimmer with eye-catching brilliance and a dazzling display of color and light.

Bring the whole family to see children’s entertainer and YouTube partner Rebbie Rye. This super happy red head is winning the hearts of children around the world with her show In the Art Room with Rebbie Rye. She is on a mission to keep the arts alive for children of all ages and abilities. In addition to her many colorful YouTube videos, she has released four original music albums filled with catchy songs like Flowers in the Garden, Let’s Be a Frog and Pop like a Popcorn, which has been played over 12.5 million times. Rebbie and her team write original songs and stories that encourage a child to use their imagination and find their own creative outlet. Rebbie can’t wait to meet you and she promises you will have a Rebbie-Riffic time!

Recycled City Hands-on art activity by Ari Honda using recycled materials: 10 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Join us for “Recycle Right Day” happening April 27th where our friends from the San Jose Environmental Services Department will educate our families on the proper ways to recycle and dispose of waste. It will be a fun day of storytime activities and demonstrations, a sorting game focused on common recycling practices, and lots of fun giveaways and information to take home and remind us all to recycle right!
A special event for children with autism ages 2-15 and their families, Play Your Way is an opportunity to relax, have fun, and learn.

The event is being held in the early evening with limited attendance so your child can enjoy all the fun things the museum has to offer, just with fewer people and less noise and bright lights. Our goal is for your family to have a positive experience… not to mention, a wickedly awesome time!

A self-portrait is a type of work where an artist creates an image or representation of themselves. Artists have been making self-portraits for centuries–just look at artists like Vincent Van Gogh and Frida Kahlo! Let’s use colored pencils and felt pens to make self-portraits of our very own! What lines, shapes and colors do you notice when you look in the mirror?

Etch a Stamp
