Was Lupe a Boy or Girl?
The pelvis of boy and girl mammoths are shaped differently. By studying the shape of a fossil pelvis, scientists can tell whether a mammoth was a girl or a boy. Unfortunately, we did not find enough of Lupe’s pelvis to determine if it was a boy or a girl.
